Google recently released the Android 12 Developer Preview 2 so that the developers could prepare their apps accordingly. While the official changelog by Google tells a lot about this new update, the experts are doing continuous digging to bring out some untold and hidden gems.
The sleuths over at XDA Developers spotted a reference within the DP2 code that reflects future Google Pixel phones might get the under-display fingerprint scanner. As the tech publication points out, there are new strings of codes that are pretty suggestive in telling us that the support is being developed for the Pixel phones and not entirely for the AOSP.
For those with some background in developing, the code shows new Udfps (under-display fingerprint scanner) classes part of the com.google.android.systemui path rather than com.android.systemui, suggesting that these classes are being developed for Pixel phones.
