YouTube experimenting with video titles, descriptions, captions translations - Android

The test is available on both YouTube web and mobile apps.

Google is known for experimenting with new features and changes to explore different user experiences. It has now been spotted testing a new YouTube feature that will make it easier for non-English users to browse through different videos. This new feature is simply about automatically translating YouTue video titles, descriptions, and captions to the native language of the user.

The feature was first reported by Android Police folks who got access to a few screenshots showing the feature in action. It currently appears to be available only for a few randomly selected users. It is also a result of the server-side change which means there is no manual way of enabling it unless you already have access to it.

The automatic YouTube translation functionality has been seen on both the web version and smartphone applications. It has been noticed that if the feature is available for you, you will automatically see a translation pop-up. It automatically translates the title, description, and captions of the video whenever a user clicks/taps on it. In terms of language support, it has only been spotted to be working with English to Portuguese and English to Turkish.
