Google announces 'Entertainment Space' for Android tablets - Android

Google announcing tablet-specific features has become a rare occurrence and today is one of those days. It has announced a new feature called Entertainment Space for Android tablets. This is simply a one-stop solution for all your entertainment needs including movies, TV shows, eBooks, and games.

Entertainment Space has been announced only for Android tablets because Google says they are primarily used for media consumption and entertainment purposes. This dedicated section will be accessible by swiping right from the home screen and help you save time. It will eliminate the need for jumping across all the installed apps to look for what to watch, play, or read next. It is similar to the experience provided by Chromecast with Google TV.

After launching the space, you will see a carousel at the top showing featured content. There are three categories named Watch, Games, and Read. Each of these categories has its own carousel showing relevant content. Within the Watch category, you will also see a row of streaming apps that you have installed. These apps will be sorted on the basis of recently played. Similar sections are available for the other two categories as well.
