It is appearing to be more and more possible that there will not be a new Galaxy Note device in 2021. Samsung has made it official it is unlikely to launch a new Galaxy Note phablet later this year because of the shortage in chip supply. This new possibility was first reported by Bloomberg citing Koh Dong-jin aka DJ Koh, CEO of Samsung.
Koh is said to have originally made the announcement in an annual shareholder's meeting. He has described the current supply and demand situation as a "serious imbalance". It simply means that Samsung is unsure of receiving enough semiconductors to match the huge demand for a new Galaxy Note device. In an attempt to avoid the situation where fans will likely become disappointed and angry over not getting their hands on the new phablet, it will simply decide to skip launching the device altogether.
This is not the first time we are hearing whispers of no new Galaxy Note device this year. Just last month, two different tipsters claimed that Samsung was ready to kill the whole lineup altogether. It goes without saying that what tipsters have claimed and what we are hearing through Samsung are two completely different things. In the current situation, we might see a new phablet next year or as soon as things get better.
