Samsung has officially announced Galaxy Quantum 2 smartphone in South Korea. It is a successor to last year's Galaxy A Quantum and is the company's second device with quantum cryptography technology. The phone has been announced in collaboration with SK Telecom, just like the predecessor.
The Galaxy Quantum 2 is a high-end smartphone packed with flagship-level specs and features. It is the quantum cryptography technology that makes it stand apart from the competition. The tech is said to deliver an enhanced layer of security that makes it extremely difficult to hack the device without physical access.
It comes with the world’s smallest quantum random number generator (QRNG) chipset measuring 2.5mm x 2.5mm. It is developed by a South Korean company named ID Quantique. The official announcement says that the chip makes it possible for users to use services with more security "by generating unpredictable and patternless true random numbers". It is compatible with all services based on the Android Keystore APIs. Some of these include Shinhan Bank and Standard Chartered Bank Korea along with SKT's own services like T World, PASS, and T-Membership.
