Nintendo Switch model with 7-inch Samsung OLED panel under works - Android

The mass production is tipped to begin in June 2021 with the launch in the Holiday season.

Nintendo's Switch lineup of handheld gaming consoles has proved to be a huge hit around the world. It currently has two models available for fans to purchase but very soon, there will be a new one as well. A new Bloomberg report has emerged claiming that a new Nintendo Switch model with a huge OLED display is under works.

The report says that this new Nintendo Switch will have a 7-inch OLED display panel with HD resolution. Samsung Display is said to be the supplier for the product with mass production expected to begin as early as June. The company has set an initial target of producing just under a million units. There is always a possibility that the production target could be increased in the future but the report does not mention anything about it.

Nintendo is said to be eyeing the Holiday season 2021 for the launch. This makes sense as it is time when customers are more likely to purchase new gadgets including gaming consoles. This will also make it the biggest Nintendo Switch console available in the market. The original Switch comes with a 6.2-inch HD LCD display and the Switch Lite has a 5.5-inch HD display.
