Microsoft Teams has become one of the commonly used tools for holding virtual meetings, conferences, and even school/college classes. It is packed with various features that make it worth the use and now, the team has announced a bunch of new things that will make the tool more reliable and use-worthy.
The biggest change is that Microsoft Teams will get support for end-to-end encryption later this year. It will work with one-on-one unscheduled video calls. The feature will specifically be aimed at enterprise customers and each company's admin will have the freedom to decide who gets access to encryption. A preview of the feature will be made available within the first half of the year.
The team has further increased the Teams capacity to support up to 1,000 members. It means up to a thousand people can be a part of a virtual webinar and even communicate with any of the other participants. The good thing is that if the limit is reached and you still have people left to join, the tool can actually support 10,000 people but in a broadcast mode. It means all additional members will only be able to see and listen to what's going on and will not be able to participate actively. The eventual goal of the team is to expand this limitation to 20,000 people by the end of the year.
