Google is seemingly planning to launch the much-rumored Pixel 5a and its next-gen Pixel phone this year. The details on the former have popped out a number of times, but this is the first time that something related to Pixel 6 has come to the surface. The detail is pretty minute but valuable for an overall analysis of the upcoming phones.
Some sleuths over at 9to5Google decompiled the latest version of the Google Camera app to dig out some details that are otherwise unknown. While decompiling they found some lines of codes that reveal some camera tidbits about the Pixel 5a and Pixel 6 as well. They found how the app handles the location of the hole punch for the front-facing camera on various Pixel devices.
From what they were able to glean and comprehend, the hole punch of the Pixel 5a is a bit smaller than that of its predecessor. It has a 55-pixel radius compared to the 65 pixels found on the Pixel 4a. The publication points out that having a smaller hole punch should push the trend of slim bezels further.
