Google has been spotted working on a new Assistant feature named Memory. The feature was spotted by 9to5Google folks during an APK teardown of the latest version of the application. The aim of the feature is to help users save anything with Google Assistant that they would like to be reminded about or revisit later.
The feature is currently described as an "easy, quick way to save and find everything in one place”. While Assistant is still able to memorize various things, the new Memory feature will be able to store things on the basis of context. It will work for a wide range of categories including articles, books, contacts, events, flights, hotels, images, movies, music, notes, photos, places, playlists, products, recipes, reminders, restaurants, screenshots, shipments, TV shows, videos, and websites.
The report adds that users will be able to store things using either voice commands or a home screen shortcut. The latter will be useful in situations where you can't use the voice like in a noisy place. Google has also added a new Memory feed next to the existing Snapshot feed. This new feed will be a single place for visiting all the stored items with the "Today" section at the top.
