Samsung is widely rumored to be working on three premium segment smartphones and now, we have a fresh report talking about the possible release timeline. A South Korean news outlet Yonhap News has reported that Samsung is planning to release three smartphones at an event scheduled for August 2021.
This particular event will likely be called Galaxy Unpacked as it is where Samsung usually launches its best devices of the year. The three phones in question are Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy S21 FE. The first two offerings are foldable devices and the last one is an affordable version of the Galaxy S21 flagship.
If the report turns out to be true, it will be earlier than the usual launch for smartphones. Last year, Samsung announced two of the predecessors in the month of September and October. The reason behind moving the launch up is said to be the omission of a new Galaxy Note device. It is speculated there will not be a Galaxy Note 20 successor this year because of the chip shortage in the industry.
