iPhone SE 5G to arrive in 2022; iPhone SE Plus with punch-hole display in 2023 - Android

It will be the first iPhone to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

It is about to be a year since iPhone SE (2020) was released and as a result, many might be expecting a successor to arrive anytime soon. The rumor mill is buzzing with claims that there will not be a new model this year. It was exactly a month ago that we heard whispers that a new iPhone SE model with an upgraded processor and 5G connectivity will arrive next year. And now, it is time for new leaks about what to expect.

Ross Young, a well-known display analyst, has tweeted that the iPhone SE 2022 will launch with the same 4.7-inch display as the current-gen offering. The display panel will also remain the LCD that we saw with the previous release. The major difference will be 5G support which has started to become a common theme among Android devices. There are even expectations of Sub-6Hz band compatibility.

It means there will not be major differences between the current-gen and next-gen iPhone models but with the 2023 iPhone SE variant, Apple is reported to deliver a complete overhaul. It is speculated to be called iPhone SE Plus and is rumored to have a bigger 6.1-inch display. It will have a punch-hole display panel which will make it the first-ever iPhone model without a notch or thick bezels on all four sides.
