This is the month when Apple is rumored to debut a new iPad Pro model with the mini-LED display. A new Bloomberg report claims that while the release plans are still unchanged, the upcoming lineup is expected to suffer from short supply issues. It cites sources familiar with the matters who chose to stay anonymous due to obvious reasons.
Apple's 2021 iPad Pro lineup is expected to have two display size options including a 12.9-inch model. It is the bigger model that will have the new min-LED display tech delivering brighter pictures and a better contrast ratio. It is reported that suppliers of the tech are facing poor manufacturing yields. The situation has been so worse that at least one of them even had to pause the production recently.
The report further reveals that the iPad Pro launch is still on track despite the aforementioned situations. It is believed that this would result in the min-LED iPad Pro model going on sale later. Even when it will be available for purchase, there will be limited quantities for at least the first few batches. The situation is expected to get better only when the makers start producing display panels in sufficient quantities.
