TweetDeck, a social media dashboard application that lets you manage your different Twitter accounts hasn’t gained any update for years. Its post-acquisition by Twitter, the platform hasn’t received any new features or changes that could attract more users to it. But this is about to change as the platform will soon get a “major overhaul.” This is confirmed by Twitter’s Chief product officer Kayvon Beykpour in an interview with The Verge.
According to Beykpour, Twitter acknowledges that TweetDeck hasn’t been getting a “lot of love recently,” but that’s about to change. In the interview, the top executive has revealed that the company is actively working on a new TweetDeck and will show it off later this year. That is by the way a long time to wait. Nevertheless, it is good to note that Twitter is finally acknowledging it publically and even revealing its redesign plans.
The CPO didn’t go into the details like exactly what changes the team is working on for TweetDeck, but he did suggest that the platform will be rebuilt “from the ground up.”
