T-Mobile has announced a special partnership with Google that will see it promote a number of latter's apps and services on all Android devices sold through the carrier. It includes Rich Communication Services (RCS), Google One subscription, YouTube TV, and Pixel lineup of smartphones.
The announcement reveals that all Android smartphones sold through the carrier will come pre-installed with Android Messages. It will be the default messaging application and obviously RCS support. Google has been trying to make RCS available on Android as widely as possible and this deal should help reach closer to that goal.
T-Mobile devices will have Google One as the recommended cloud subscription. It will be suggested to users for backing up mobile data and restoration purposes. The biggest inclusion in the deal is that T-Mobile has agreed to replace its own suite of live-streaming apps with YouTube TV as the default live streaming application. All users of the carrier will get $10 off on the monthly subscription and will cost $54.99 per month.
