Spotify revamps Android, iOS apps with a personalized home screen - Android

Spotify wants to make it easier to discover music and podcasts.

Spotify has announced a new revamped Home Hub user interface and experience for Android and iOS devices. This new change will become available to all users around the globe by the end of this month. The main aim of the new interface is to help users pick up content from where they left off but also discover new songs, artists, albums, and podcasts.

The upcoming Spotify home screen UI will have a new Recently Played section. It will show you a collection of content that you have listened to in recent times. The best part is that it will keep a track of the content for up to the last three months so that users can discover songs that they were listening to a lot recently. This new section will be available for both paid and free users.

If you are someone who loves Spotify for its podcast experience, the team has changed a few things for you too. It will now show new and relevant podcast episodes to you right on the home screen. There will be a Blue dot marking newly released episodes and a progress bar on the episodes that you started listening to but did not finish. This feature will be limited to Premium users.
