Sony has officially revealed dates for shutting down access to the store for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable (PSP) users. The rumors of this particular move started to surface as early as last week and now, we have confirmation from the official source through an updated source page and an email sent to customers.
The PlayStation Store access for the PS3 and PSP users wil end on July 2nd, 2021. The users of PS Vita will be able to use the store for a little bit longer i.e. August 27th. It should be noted that the announcement only affects the PSN wallet fund voucher redemption and buying new apps and games along with in-app/in-game purchases. It will not stop users from playing or downloading already purchased games and applications.
The support page reveals that users of any of these gaming consoles will be able to access their games by visiting the Download List section. If Sony ends up releasing any games or content with the PlayStation Plus subscription, they will be able to download that content as well. If you are thinking of buying a new title for these consoles, it is advised that you do that before the respective deadline.
