The Realme 8 smartphone series has now been made official in India. There are two models named Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro, direct successors to the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro respectively. Realme has announced a bunch of noteworthy features like 5G connectivity and a 108-megapixel camera sensor but these are restricted to the Pro variant.
The Realme 8 Pro sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor with Adreno 618 GPU and 5th gen Qualcomm AI Engine. The phone is available with 6GB and 8GB of RAM options but a single 128GB UFS 2.1 onboard storage.
The quad-camera setup includes a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary sensor with f/1.88 aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). The other three cameras include an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 16-megapixel sensor housed within the punch-hole.
