Qualcomm is reportedly working on a new mid-range processor named Snapdragon 775. It will be a chipset aimed at future mid-range smartphones and a direct successor to the Snapdragon 768. The company is yet to make an official announcement about its existence but we have a new leak that details everything that you would be interested in.
The leak is coming from XiaomiMIUI, a Telegram-based tipster, who has shared a bunch of documentation that appears to be taken straight from Qualcomm itself. It reveals that there will be two variants: Snapdragon 775 and Snapdragon 775G. The second variant is simply the one with support for 5G connectivity. It makes sense as the number of 5G-powered mid-range smartphones has started to increase with time.
The Snapdragon 775 is tipped to be a 5nm processor featuring Kryo 6xx CPU cores. It will be compatible with both LPDDR5 (up to 3200MHz) and LPDDR4X (up to 2400MHz) RAMs and support UFS 3.1 Two-Lane HS Gear 4 storage standard. It simply means that users should be experiencing a better multi-tasking experience and faster read/write speeds during tasks like file transfer.
