Smart tag item tracker is turning out to be the next product category where tech companies would be competing in. It was Tile that made them popular and since then, Samsung and Apple have joined the market as well. The next new company in the line is Oppo whose take on item trackers has been spotted in the wild.
Digital Chat Station (@chat_station), a reliable tipster, has shared a couple of real-life images of the Oppo smart tag device. It is circular in shape which is a commonly used form factor for smart tags. It is shown in White color with big Oppo branding on the front side. It further mentions "Ultra Wide Band" confirming that these will UWB supported.
The benefit of having a UWB-powered smart tag is that it is able to share a more accurate location of the lost item. This makes it a lot easier and convenient for the user to locate the tagged item. One major change between Oppo's smart tag and other offerings is that it has a USB Type-C port for charging purposes.
