In the past few years, Chinese smartphone makers have made a name for themselves in the mobile market. They are now interested in the foldable smartphone segment which is still pretty new. Xiaomi and Huawei are currently the two popular Chinese OEMs but very soon, they will be joined by Oppo and Vivo.
Oppo is tipped to be working on two foldable smartphones. It is said that both these foldables will have the same folding mechanism as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. It means the main display will be on the inside and the external part will have a relatively smaller display. The major difference between the two models is in terms of the display size. There is one model with a 7-inch display which is even said to be closer to mass production. The 8-inch model is also under development with release expected to happen this year as well.
The source behind the leak has further claimed that Vivo has only one foldable in the pipeline. It is said to have an 8-inch display which means the company is directly going for the bigger size. It will also have a 6.5-inch external display but the leak does not mention any such detail about Oppo's devices.
