It is time for Nokia smartphone users to get the taste of the newest Android version. The latest batch includes Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 2.3 as the phones that are receiving the Android 11 update. It has also been spotted testing the new software experience for Nokia 1.4 but it is based on the Android Go version as it is a low-power device.
Starting with the Nokia 8.1, the all-new Android 11 upgrade is currently available in a total of nine countries: India, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Macau, Nepal, and the Philippines. The rollout is taking place in a phased manner which means only 10% of the users will be receiving it right now. This is done to ensure that if there are any major issues with the update, the rollout can be paused before it affects a huge number of users. If nothing goes wrong, the rollout will be expanded to other users starting next week.
The company is following a similar protocol for the Nokia 2.3 update as well. It will be available in 16 different countries and to 10% of the users in the first phase. If the whole process goes smooth, the update will expand to all other users. The rollout is obviously happening over the air and you would receive a notification as and when the update becomes available.
