Microsoft is in talks with Discord regarding $10 billion acquisition | Report - Android

Discord is having discussions with multiple companies.

Discord, the popular chatting and community platform for gamers, is under discussions with different companies for a potential sale expected to be around $10 billion. Microsoft is said to be one of the interested parties looking to convince the company and strike a deal. The report was first shared by VentureBeat but has been corroborated by Bloomberg as well.

The talks between Discord and all involved parties are reported to be in very early stages. It means nothing is confirmed which of the parties will be able to sign and if there will actually be any deal. The whole process is likely to take some time and we should be hearing more as time will pass. One of the sources has even claimed that Discord is likely to go public than agreeing on a sale deal.

For the uninitiated, Discord is a huge platform for gamers regardless of what device they play on. It is specifically popular among PC gamers and streamers who also use it as a medium to interact with their fans. The app is free to use but also offers a paid membership called Nitro. It costs $9.99 per month for which users get additional features.
