Microsoft begins testing Chromium-based Edge browser on Xbox consoles - Android

The new Chromium-based Xbox browser will deliver a better browsing experience.

Microsoft has now started testing the new Chromium-based Edge browser on Xbox consoles. It is available only for Alpha Skip-Ahead group members with an Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X gaming console. The new browser version replaces the old legacy Edge browser and improves the web browsing experience significantly.

It is reported that all eligible testers will see the new Edge browser in their apps library after installing the latest update. The browser is usable but is reportedly slightly buggy as well. This is an expected behavior considering it is not an alpha release and not a stable one. The browser is fully compatible with the Xbox controller but the team has not added support for the keyboard and mouse yet.
