Instagram has started testing a new auto-captions feature for Stories. It is simply a new sticker getting tested internally and is not currently available for public usage. It was first spotted and shared by Matt Navara who is well-known for spotting new features on various applications, especially social media platforms.
Navara has tweeted a video showing the feature in action to give an idea of how it might work. The feature accessible is a new sticker named "CC Captions" available through the list of stickers. Once the sticker is selected, you can start speaking in the story as you usually do. It will start transcribing instantly and you will be able to see the speech getting transformed into text in real-time.
