Google Assistant is receiving a few new features but one of them is bound to catch iOS users' attention. It is the ability to find lost iPhone using Google Assistant. This is something that the assistant already does for Android devices and Siri has been doing for iOS devices but with the new update, there is one more way to do that.
The feature works exactly the way you would expect it to but there are certain conditions to be met for it to be functional. The first one is that you will need to have an Assistant-powered smart speaker or smart display around you. The next step is to install the Google Home application installed on your iPhone. Lastly, you will need to enable notifications and critical alerts setting for that application.
Once everything is done and set, you will be able to use the command: "Hey Google, find my phone". Google Assistant will then send a notification and play a custom sound on your connected iPhone. This sound will be audible even if your device is on silent or Do Not Disturb (DND) mode. This is because iOS has categorized this alert as a critical alert.
