A few hours back, a tipster @jon_prosser tipped via Twitter that Google had canceled the Pixel 5a entirely. The tipster actively shares details on some upcoming stuff and holds an overall pretty good track record in it. But this time, the news seems to be only partially true.
Soon after this tip and “exaggerations” around it, Google came up to confirm Pixel 5a exists and it is launching in the US and Japan during the same time period when last year’s a-series phone was introduced. For comparison, the Pixel 4a was launched in August and immediately went on sale. So, as per Google spokesperson's statement, expect to see its successor during the same timeframe.
In its short and crisp statement, Google managed to give as much information as it can. It not only confirms the phone’s existence, its name, 5G connectivity, its availability, and also when it’s going to launch.
