Video and audio calling has become the go-to method for staying in touch with close ones as well as interacting with workplace colleagues. However, if you are one of the users who have slow internet connectivity, then it can actually become a frustrating experience because of issues like poor quality and random call drops. Google has now made an announcement about a new codec aimed at resolving these same issues.
Google has announced a new codec named Lyra which is currently under testing. This new codec will be used for improving Google Duo call quality. The codec will essentially result in high-quality audio performance despite running on slow internet connectivity. It makes use of AI-powered algorithms to deliver improved quality to users.
