Google has announced Chrome OS 90 for supported Chromebooks with a set of new features. The update brings support for Live Caption which originally debuted on Pixel smartphones. It further adds a new launcher with improved search functionality and a dedicated diagnostic app to help users troubleshoot issues.
Starting with Live Caption, Chromebooks running Chrome OS 90 will be able to show real-time captions for any media that has audio. It was recently made available for the Chrome web browser and is now available for the operating system as well. The feature is aimed at making content more accessible, especially for users who are hard of hearing. It can be enabled by visiting the Accessibility section within Chromebook settings.
The new update brings an improved Launcher with support for better search results. It basically now offers inline search results for things like weather and general queries including Maths problems. It can be done by tapping the Everything Button and you are good to go. While checking the weather, it will automatically show the latest weather update for your current location.
