Apple Watch expected to get blood glucose monitoring in 2022 - Android

This could be the next big health feature for Apple Watch users.

The Apple Watch is one of the best smartwatches that one can get, especially if health-related features are a priority. It already has a number of noteworthy features and most recently, it was rumored to be in line to get blood glucose monitoring. Now, new evidence has emerged suggesting we could see that happening as early as 2022.

Rockley Photonics, a UK-based startup, has filed an application with the SEC. The startup is known for producing sensors helpful in monitoring the user's blood through infrared light. It has mentioned Apple has one of its biggest clients in the last two years in the filing. This has strengthened speculations that Apple Watch will get support for monitoring blood glucose.

Even Andrew Rickman, CEO of the aforementioned startup, has revealed that they are expecting their technology to arrive in consumer products in 2022. He has not mentioned the name of the Apple Watch but the rumor mill is again pointing at the possibility of it becoming a reality.
