Alleged iPhone 13 Pro dummy shows changed notch design - Android

The notch is now smaller but also slightly taller.

Apple has been offering iPhone with notches since the iPhone X launch in 2017. It was done to accommodate various Face ID sensors and the front camera while also ensuring that the phone has minimal bezels. The move received mixed responses from critics and users but years later, people have become accustomed to it. Now, Apple is widely rumored to be working on minor but noticeable notch design changes for future models.

A fresh report from Macotakara, a Japanese blog, has corroborated these claims and has shown an iPhone 13 Pro dummy. The alleged dummy is a 3D-printed model of the 6.1-inch iPhone based on details received by accessory makers. It shows that next-gen iPhone 13 models will have a tad taller but overall a smaller notch design. The height is tipped to be 5.35 mm as compared to 5.3 mm on the iPhone 12 Pro. The width is expected to have been reduced to 26.8 mm from 34.83 mm on the predecessor.

The reason for the difference in dimensions is Apple's decision to move the earpiece towards the top bezel. The front camera placement has also been changed from the right side to the left side. It is unknown why Apple is doing this change but if something is known, we will keep you posted. These are the only visual changes that have been spotted for the time being.
