A version of APKPure app found filled with malicious code | Report - Android

Security experts advise us not to install any app from a third-party store or provider because they are not safe and might contain malware that can affect our data adversely. But, despite such counsels, many of us still use the sideload method to install the apps. We fail to look into the possible outcomes of this action, mainly because we don’t get to see negative impacts in plain sight.

Malware and malicious code work from behind and manage to gain unauthorized access to our system without our knowledge. This is the reason why we fail to notice such happenings and hence neglect this advice over and over again.

Well, to tell you the adversity of such actions, security researchers have come up with an investigation. Security researchers at Kaspersky and Dr. Web found malware embedded within the APKPure, a popular third-party Android app store and an alternative to Google’s official Play Store.
