8-inch foldable iPhone to launch in 2023 - Kuo - Android

It will have an AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution.

Apple is reported to launch a foldable iPhone in 2023. The report is based on the latest research notes shared by Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known market research analyst. He has further shared details about Apple's development plans and what would be its plans about the release once it launches officially.

Kuo says that the first foldable iPhone will have an 8-inch OLED display with Quad HD+ resolution. This is not surprising as Apple has already offered OLED panels with the iPhone 12 lineup. It will also be the highest available resolution on an iPhone so far. He has further mentioned that SDC and Samsung Foundry will be the exclusive display supplier and DDI foundry providers respectively.

Apple is tipped to manufacture and ship between 15 million and 20 million units of the iPhone in the first year. This is certainly a lower number than what one might expect from Apple. It is quite possible that the Cupertino-based tech giant would be looking to gauge the initial feedback of customers and then increase the shipment quantity accordingly.
