Xiaomi sub-brand Poco has announced that it has globally sold over 700,000 units of the Poco F1, its first and currently only smartphone. While the phone is particularly successful in India for being the most affordable device in the market to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, the Poco F1 has clearly also enjoyed some global success.
The Xiaomi Poco F1 achieved this number in around three months since its launch in late August. The phone is online exclusive, being sold in India on Flipkart and Mi.com/in. The device was initially priced at Rs 20,999, but has seen a slight price increase since then. However, Xiaomi has been offering limited price drops during major sales, and the phone can currently be bought on Flipkart for Rs 19,999 during the Big Shopping Days sale.
The Xiaomi Poco F1 made waves at launch as the most affordable device in India to be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. While the base variant sports 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the top-end variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is also available in a special Armored Edition, which features a Kevlar back plate.
The device comes with a dual-camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. At the front, the phone sports a 20-megapixel camera. The Xiaomi Poco F1 also features an IR-powered face unlock system that works well in the dark, similar to that of the iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. The Xiaomi Poco F1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with MIUI and the specialized Poco Launcher on top.
