Telegram 5.5 update for Android and iOS devices has been released with a number of noteworthy features. Two of the biggest changes include the ability to unsend any message in a conversation and an option to forward texts anonymously. Other than this, the updated version offers search functionality for stickers, GIFs, and app settings.
With the new update, Telegram supports the Unsend functionality for both sent and received messages. It means it is now possible to "unsend" received messages as well which is a way of offering more freedom over privacy. The team has also removed the 48 hours time limit making it possible for anyone to delete any message whenever they want. This feature extends to private chats as well which can now be deleted for both ends with ease.
Next up, users can now forward messages anonymously which Telegram describes as a step to complete the user privacy. It is a setting which will have to be enabled first. Once enabled, the app will show a random and unclickable name along with the anonymously forwarded message. It means tapping on the name will not result in anything.
