It will allow users to group two apps and create a shortcut.

Microsoft's Surface Duo is one of the much-awaited foldable devices that will run Android. It will get official sometime this year but a recent report claimed that to happen as soon as by August. It is now time for a new report that details a new feature aimed at improving multi-tasking efficiency. on the device.

As per Windows Latest, Surface Duo will offer a functionality named App Groups. It will allow users to create groups of two apps that they use frequently split-screen mode. These groups will reside on the home screen as quick shortcuts that can be tapped for launching those two apps in one go.

Let's say a user happens to use Microsoft Word for writing content and the Edge browser for research purposes. He tends to use both these apps in split-screen mode to improve his productivity. With the help of app groups, he will be able to add these two apps to a group and set that as a shortcut on the home screen. This will allow him to launch both the apps in split-screen mode with just one tap and thus saving a lot of time.
