Samsung extends partnership with Olympic games for another decade - Android

Samsung signs a new deal with (International Olympic Committee) IOC for another 10 years.

Samsung Electronics has signed an extension to its partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for another decade. Samsung and IOC signed the new deal at a ceremony held in Seoul, South Korea on Tuesday. The ceremony was attended by IOC President, Thomas Bach, and DJ Koh, Samsung’s President and CEO of the T-Mobile Communications Division. Under the new terms of the agreement, Samsung will continue as the official sponsor of the Olympic Games till 2028.

The South Korean giant has been a Worldwide Olympic Partner for over two decades. It has been a sponsor of the Olympic games since the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. The company extended as a Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category in the 1998 Winter Olympics.

As a part of the extension, Samsung will continue to play the same role as the Worldwide Olympic Partner for the next decade till 2028. The period will cover five Olympic games, which includes three Summer Olympics, two Winter Olympics, and a youth Olympic games. The company will also remain a Worldwide Partner of the International Paralympic Committee, for which Samsung has been a partner since 2006.
