Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Android Oreo update brings Dolby Atmos support - Android

Galaxy Tab S3 LTE and Wi-Fi variants now receiving Android Oreo in the UK.

Finally, after a long wait, the South Korean giant finally starts rolling Android Oreo update for the Galaxy Tab S3 owners. The update kicks off for the UK customers but we can expect it to go global in next few weeks. Just for the sake of reminder Samsung UK also takes lead in rolling Android Oreo for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Both the WiFi (SM-T820) and (LTE SM-T825) variants are now receiving the update.

The Oreo update for the Galaxy Tab S3 is rolled out with build number T820XXU1BRE2, unfortunately, it still has the last month's security patch. As it is rolled out via OTA so you can expect it will take few days before reaching out to everyone. In the meantime you can checkout manually by going into settings >> Software update >> Download update manually.

The new Android Oreo update brings all the goodies of the Android Oreo with the company's Experience UI 9.0 layer over it. Apart from regular Android goodies, the update brings support for Dolby Atmos which is worth appreciating. The Galaxy Tab S3 owners in other regions will have to wait few more weeks to get the latest Oreo flavor.
