After officially launching the OnePlus 6 in the London yesterday, the company is now gearing up to reveal the product to its Indian audience. OnePlus is hosting a launch event in Mumbai at NSCI, which will be starting off at 3:00 PM IST. OnePlus was even selling tickets for the event at Rs 999, but if you haven’t got one yet, then you can still catch the event live on OnePlus’s official website or its Facebook and YouTube channel.
The OnePlus 6 has mostly changed in terms of design. Like most of the other flagships, the OnePlus 6 also sports a notch display, with rounded-edges. It also features a glass back and is likely to be available in four variants: Mirror Black, Midnight Black, Silk White and Avengers Black. The latter still isn’t official yet, but is rumored to be launching soon.
The OnePlus 6 features a notched 6.28-inch full HD+ (2280 x 1080) display, with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It runs the Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, in the base variant. There are two other configurations that come with 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage.
The phone comes with a dual-rear camera setup, which now has been moved to the top-center of the back panel. The primary sensor here is 16-megapixel, while the secondary is a 20-megapixel sensor, which is designed to offer a 2x lossless zoom and Portrait mode. At the front, the phone offers a 16-megapixel camera, with an aperture of f/2.0.
The phone comes with 3,300 mAh battery and like the previous variant, also supports Dash Charge through its USB Type-C port. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with OxygenOS 5.1.2 layered on top of it. There is no miroSD card support, but the phone does have Dual-SIM slots. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0.
OnePlus 6 will be available in India exclusively through Amazon starting 21 May. Pricing for India hasn’t been revealed yet, but at the event in London, OnePlus did reveal the American pricing, which was $529 (roughly Rs. 35,800) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, $579 (roughly Rs. 39,200) for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant and $629 (roughly Rs. 42,600) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
