OnePlus just launched its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 6 in India with prices starting at Rs 34,999 and going all the way up to Rs 44,999. The company also launched a second product, something that we were expecting since a long time, the OnePlus “Bullets Wireless”. The “Bullets Wireless” is the first wireless headphone from the company. At the global launch event in London, Carl Pei, OnePlus Co-founder pointed out that the company tested a number of materials for a pair of wireless earphones in last two years. Considering that Bullets Wireless is without wires, this does not mean that the 3.5 mm headphone jack is going anywhere from the OnePlus 6.

Now that the company has launched a pair of wireless earphones, you must be thinking that what is different here? Are there earphones plagued by the same issues of poor battery life? If you are not one of the believers in a certain charging technology by OnePlus then you are in for a surprise. OnePlus has added fast charging the its “Bullets Wireless” and it claims that users only need to charge the earphones for about 10 minutes for 5 hours of playback time. They come with a USB Type-C port so that users can use any Type-C cable to charge them.

“Bullets Wireless” support Qualcomm AptX playback technology for high-resolution audio playback along with 9.2 mm moving coil drivers for people who know what that means. OnePlus added that it worked on a new technology called “Energy Tubes” which helps reduce audio distortion and deliver a more clear sound quality.

Carl added that Bullets Wireless are magnetic and they automatically turn off when not in use. In fact, snapping them together turns them off and then you can pull them apart to turn them on and answer a phone call. Automatic shut down feature will be essential for the company to increase the battery back provided by the earphones. The company showcased a blind test where professional musicians and editors tested a number of wireless earphones to prefer the Bullets.

Carl added that these earphones are backward compatible with the OnePlus 5 and other smartphones in the market. Considering the number of features here, it may seem like the “Bullets Wireless” will be priced on par with other wireless earphones in the market. But it is no surprise to report that OnePlus has priced the “Bullets Wireless” headphones at Rs 3,999, available starting June 5, 2018.
