Huawei is said to be working on its next-gen flagship processor which could be the Kirin 985 based on 7nm EUV process. And, while a previous report stated the arrival of this chipset, a new report states which phone could bear it.
Amidst highly hyped P30 series and its leaks, comes a little spark about the company’s upcoming flagship from the Mate series. According to Taiwan’s “Business Times,” the Mate 30 could be the first device from the company which would feature the yet-to-come Kirin 985 processor.
The previous report brought very little to the table except for the fact that the Kirin 985 chipset will be built with an Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) process by the TSMC foundries. Now, the latest report adds more details to it and according to this, the Kirin 985 chipset will come with increased clock speeds for higher performance, but the CPU and GPU architecture will be largely the same. Also, the new chipset will reportedly come with a 5G modem built in, which was, however, expected to come with the Kirin 990 as well.
