Google's new Chromecast can stream 1080p videos at 60fps and is faster - Android

It also offers Google Home and Nest security camera integration.

Google's keynote during last night's event was mainly focused on talking about the new Pixel 3 smartphones, Pixel Slate, and Home Hub smart display. It released one more hardware product, new Chromecast, which it refrained from talking about during the event. But the listing for the same is live on the Google Store website for anyone interested in buying the new offering.

It is the third generation Chromecast device and is a successor to the Chromecast (second generation) from 2015. Both these devices are essentially similar except for a few nifty additions to the newer one. The biggest addition to the new Chromecast is the ability to stream 1080p videos at 60fps which is limited to 720p videos on the older model. It is further claimed to be 15% faster than the predecessor despite maintaining the same size.

The new Chromecast supports integration with Google Home devices. It will allow users to interact with the Chromecast via voice commands which can be used for different tasks like launching an app, playing a particular content, and adjusting the volume level. Those have Nest security camera installed on their doorstep, they can use the Chromecast to view the Nest feed directly on the TV.
