Galaxy A5 (2017) gets security patch update for October fixing critical bugs - Android

Galaxy A5 (2017) getting October 2018 security update in India, as other phones to receive the update soon as well.

Samsung is now rolling out October security patch for Galaxy A5 (2017) in India, in addition to other devices that would follow in the upcoming days. The update offers bug fixes for critical vulnerabilities that were part of the Android OS for both high and moderate vulnerabilities. The update includes fixes for 11 vulnerabilities in Samsung’s own skin on top of the Android in addition to the security maintenance release.

Not that this update brings any considerable new features, rather it’s more of a maintenance update, incremental in nature on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. If you happen to own Galaxy A5 (2017) and you’re living in India, you can get your hands upon this update by heading over to settings >> software update on your phone.
