Samsung is now rolling out October security patch for Galaxy A5 (2017) in India, in addition to other devices that would follow in the upcoming days. The update offers bug fixes for critical vulnerabilities that were part of the Android OS for both high and moderate vulnerabilities. The update includes fixes for 11 vulnerabilities in Samsung’s own skin on top of the Android in addition to the security maintenance release.
Not that this update brings any considerable new features, rather it’s more of a maintenance update, incremental in nature on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. If you happen to own Galaxy A5 (2017) and you’re living in India, you can get your hands upon this update by heading over to settings >> software update on your phone.
