As promised, Mozilla has released Firefox Send Android app for anyone to download. The app works exactly the same as the web service announced about a couple of weeks ago. It is aimed at making file sharing faster and more convenient than before as it will eliminate the need for opening a web browser.
Once the Firefox Send app is installed and opened, the home screen of the app presents a simple file uploader interference. There is a + sign which needs to be tapped to start selecting files with support for multiple selects at once. The app offers default settings of one download and one day which is also the limit for unregistered users.
For those who have a Mozilla Firefox account or create a new account, the app will offer extra benefits to those users. It will allow registered users to share files up to 2.5GB as compared to 1GB for non-registered ones. It will further allow users to choose the download count limit (up to 100) and the number of days limit (up to seven). It offers end-to-end file encryption for all the files shared using the app.
