The Chrome 74 first beta has now been released and it brings the dark mode to the Windows. Recently the browser received the dark mode support in the macOS and now it comes to Windows users as well as a setting which when enabled can load the darker-colored theme.
Also, the Chrome 74 supports a user preference media query which means developers can choose to design a motion-reduced variant of their sites for users because not everyone likes animations or transitions as it leads to motion sickness when faced with parallax scrolling, zooming, and other motion effects.
The new Chrome 74 can instruct websites to respect OS-level preferences when it comes to motion and animations. For instance, in Android, if you have set the option such as “Remove animations” in Settings, the Chrome will make sure that the page you’re visiting doesn’t play videos or agitating visuals that can trigger dizziness and nausea.
