Android 9 Pie adaptive brightness not working on Pixel 2 devices - Android

Google Pixel 2 adaptive brightness control features are not working, causing inconvenience to a lot of users, as Google is working on the fix.

As the Google Pixel 3 launch is around the corner, we have a quick update on behalf of the Pixel 2 users that upgraded to the latest Android 9.0 Pie update. Android Pie brought in the feature of adaptive brightness, which adjusted the brightness of the screen relative to the surrounding lighting conditions. Though unfortunately, it seems that the feature isn’t working fine on Pixel 2 devices.

Even after going in a room with low lighting, the adaptive brightness feature doesn’t kick in and the brightness still remains the same. Thus, the user has to manually adjust it through the brightness control settings slider. Likewise, coming from dim to the bright environment, it’s all the same, which means, the user this time can’t even find the brightness slider, knowingly how the screen with low brightness set already fades off the screen, thus can’t even find out the brightness slider.

The feature was introduced as a part of Android Pie when the latest Android OS was launched and the feature worked great for many until recently. Adaptive brightness features artificial intelligence which learns different brightness levels that the user is comfortable with an then follows along the same pattern in different lightness conditions.
