Amazon has released an update for the Alexa app on both Android and iOS platforms. The newly updated version brings a major design overhaul which is aimed at improving the overall usability and user experience of the app. It has already started to roll out for both platforms and the new design is being appreciated.
One of the biggest advantages of the Alexa app redesign is the easiness of controlling Alexa-powered smart home devices. The updated version groups all such devices on the basis of a particular room like the bedroom, kitchen, and drawing room. This will save the user from the hassle of going through multiple tabs as they can simply go to a particular room and then control the same. To make the user experience even better, Amazon has colored each of the groups with a specific background color and image as a differentiating factor.
This new redesign has arrived soon after Amazon released a bunch of Alexa-powered devices including new generation Echo Dot, Echo Show, a smart wall clock, and more. There is also a dedicated Communications tab with options to get in touch with Amazon customer support via call or message. For text conversations, a user will also be able to check the text history like any other instant messaging history. There is also a dedicated "Drop In" option tab for connecting via friends.
